Face to Face (F2F) Events

We live in a global world and with advancements in technology, road and air travel, we are in a better position to connect globally. Air travel is such that, you can have breakfast in London and Dinner in Kampala, Nairobi  or Juba.

We appreciate that many Luo women may be alone in their regions and find it difficult to connect with Luo people because of restrictive membership based on locality. In the spirit of Unity our forum accepts global membership of Luo women, so that each Contemporary, Progressive and Dynamic Luo woman belongs.

As we continue to grow we will encourage members to organise F2F meetings in their region or locality. We must take every opportunity to unite, empower and thrive.

All events will be shared in the main forum. Face to face events can be organised by members and will be conducted in various venues depending on the agenda. Options are provided below:

  • Pre-booked restaurants (indoor)
  • Community Parks (Outdoor)

We propose two F2F opportunities to meet annually.

Summer F2F

The first one will be centred around ‘Luo Cultural Day’ and focussed on family and community cohesion. All family members and friends will be invited to this day.

  • Theme: *Luo Cultural Day* A dedicated day to commemorate our culture, heritage and unity in diversity. Members are encouraged to dress in their African traditional attires or African print (Kitenge). This event is best organised in a community park.

Winter F2F

  • The winter F2F one will be formalised. Arranged in a pre-booked restaurant. Opportunity to connect with other members and professionals.
